Why I collaborate

Whether you're a makeup artist, hair stylist, photographer, etc.... it's so rewarding to have creative control. I love working to a brief, but sometimes you need to get creative and set your own brief! Coming together with a group of people who's work you respect and who you can bounce off is THE most fun and I get so so so excited for the outcome!

When looking to collaborate it should be worth your time. If the style of the shoot doesn't suit yours and you're doing something you're not really into... don't do it. What's the point? It's to build your portfolio, try something you've wanted to try and combine your ideas with someone else's. When collaborating no one person is in charge, you all get what you want from it and it's so relaxed and fun!

I'd wanted to shoot with Adj Brown for a while after following his work on Instagram, and Josie.... well.... It's clear how much I love Josie! So I was super excited for this evening shoot at the HoHouse studio in Newquay. Milly Heane was styling the outfits, and since this shoot I regularly stalk her Instagram to see what she's wearing (she didn't know that till now....) but she's just... cool.... and I feel OLD even saying cool. Is cool still what the kids say? Sick? Who knows.

Makeup wise I wanted Josie to GLOW. It was the first time I'd been able to use the Estee Lauder Golden Goddess illuminiser, I'd wanted to get my hands on it for so long but it was impossible to get. Until one day I hit gold (pun intended!) and managed to get the last one from the Estee Lauder counter in Boots. I  wanted to use a bright colour on Josie's lips so used the Laura Mercier Lip Glace in "Tulip", it's such a beautiful gloss with a great colour pay off.
